A bee-eye wash earns its place by how it moves as a field of light, not as a single point. Ayla K20 is Orion’s largest expression of that idea: 37 individually driven 40W RGBW cells behind one lens array, with 1500W of output that can fill a stage as a wash or cut across it as a beam.
The optics cover a 2°-60° DMX linear zoom with auto-focus, so a tight aerial beam and a wide, even wash are one cue apart. Built-in CTO with DMX linear adjustment, 0-100% dimming with gamma correction, and an adjustable dimming frequency of 1.2-25kHz keep color and fades clean on broadcast cameras as well as in the room. A bi-directional endless-rotating lens disk and individual pixel control open up kaleidoscope and vortex looks. Beam, wash, kaleidoscope, and vortex presets are ready from the first power-up, with built-in strobe and chaser programs behind them.
Motion is where Orion lives, and the K20 delivers it quietly. Silent high-speed 3-phase motors with magnetic encoder positioning drive 540° of pan and 270° of tilt at 16-bit resolution, with adjustable speed, X/Y invert, and auto re-homing. Strobe runs 0.3-25 flashes per second, synchronous or asynchronous, so the fixture can punctuate a cue as well as carry it.
Five channel modes, from a compact 22CH to a full 170CH, fit the fixture to the console and the programmer. Full DMX512 and RDM control, 3-pin XLR (5-pin optional), and PowerCON daisy-chaining keep it easy to rig. A copper-tube radiator, a variable-speed smart fan, and a thermal noise balance module keep the K20 cool and quiet, while a 2.8" touch screen reports faults and temperature at a glance. If the signal is lost, the fixture goes to sleep on its own. The LED is rated for 30,000 hours.
